Under the High Patronage of H.E. General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, and in the presence of First Lady Mrs. Nehmat Aoun, the Lebanese Hospital Geitaoui – UMC, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Lebanese University, officially launched the University Diploma in Robotic Surgery on October 15, 2026.

This milestone, part of the First Lady’s School of Citizenship initiative, marks a significant step toward advancing specialized medical education, empowering the next generation of surgeons, and making cutting-edge surgical technologies more accessible to all.

Special recognition was given to the generous donors whose contributions made this initiative possible, particularly Mr. Philippe Helou, alongside Mr. Georges Boutros, Mr. Maroun Eddé, Mr. Antoine Karah, Mr. Nabil Boustros, and the Nahas family.

The event concluded with an honorary recognition ceremony celebrating the individuals and institutions supporting the advancement of medical education and healthcare in Lebanon.
